We had our meet the teacher day today and I think it was a great success! She met us at the door and asked James if he knew who she was and he promptly said "Mrs. Enns"! (Yes we had been practicing) I didn't have a sitter so Mason came with us. I was a little worried the 2 yr old would be quite the distraction but he wasn't too bad. Mrs Enns gave us a tour of where James takes his outdoor shoes off when he arrives and showed him where is hook and cubby were. We put away his indoor shoes and paint shirt. Then we went to the table where she asked him a few get to know you questions. What is your favorite Colour? His reply Purple What is your favorite thing to eat? His reply Apples What is your favorite book? I thought he would say RoBert M's Rrrroaaar! Since he makes me read it almost every night but he promptly said Smurfs! Finally when you are not in school what is your favorite thing to do ..he answered Bowling! Then he had to draw a picture of himself at the bottom of the page. Then she toured us around the classroom and talked to James about bringing a healthy snack and a healthy lunch. Showed us that she has a microwave so he could heat up food instead of only bringing sandwiches! (she must know my kid already) After all our tasks were done she took the time to play some bowling with James! She gets an A+++ in my books! He is going to have a fabulous year. We are so blessed!

Week of Firsts
Well what an emotional week this is going to be! A week of many firsts...1) James meets his teacher 2) I go back to work after being off for 14 months with my babes 3) Mason starts big boy daycare/preschool on Thursday (insert tear) 4) James officially starts Kindergarten (insert tear here again). I am so excited for the children but I can't believe how fast time flies. I know James is ready for school but I am not sure I am ready for these big kid activities! It is so crazy how time flies ...I think I am just worried I am going to blink and he will be graduating. I want time to slow down so I can take it all in! I am looking forward to work, I know I will be happy once I get back into the swing of things. It's just the anticipation of starting. I am going to miss those pajama/cuddle filled mornings ...eating a leisurely breakfast with my little men. Going for a walk in the day, playing outside, meeting the other moms for playgroup and most recently the afternoon snooze! lol Well regardless of my apprehension I know there are going to be a lot fun times to come and new memories made! I will be there with my camera to capture them!

Smart Kid
And so it begins...we have a seed!
I have finally decided to join the blogging world. I feel like my life is zipping by with my kiddies and I thought I should stop and take a few notes so I can remember this journey of parenting. So speaking of parenting ...we have some news! I am 6 weeks pregnant! Yup for those of you who know me I know your jaws have dropped ...heck you probably are lying on the floor in complete and utter shock! Well apparently miracles do happen and we are totally thrilled! Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought this ...no when my mother googled why my breasts would be so sore...it said "pre-menopausal symptom" and I immediately thought I just got the short end of the hormone stick! Prior to her googling I figured I just had breast cancer and I was going to loose them all together. This pain continued on over 3 weeks! Then at the bottom of the list symptoms it said sign of early pregnancy. Not believing for a second ...I slept on it and decided to take the test in the morning. So on Friday, Aug. 12th I peed on a stick and I got my first positive! Well I was ecstatic to say the very least...I immediately began the happy dance in my nightie (no undergarments on yet so that didn't last long) but I did run down stairs in tears to my mother who was having her first cup of coffee on the deck. With one eye open she says....what is that? I told her a pregnancy test ..and it says I am pregnant! By this time I am rolling around the deck crying, laughing ...my poor mother didn't know what to do with me. So of course we called Jordie right away to tell him ..and his response ..."How exciting, I knew it" wait...you knew it ...how the heck? Well I was happy with the response it was better than the "Oh $#*!" I thought he was going to say! We got to celebrate only for a few minutes because then I was off to the hairdressers! To see sweet Kathy ...who didn't know what she was going to get when she opened the door that morning! (after swearing our news to secrecy with Jordan) It only took me about 2 seconds to tell Kathy! Yup still my husband doesn't know (well he does now as he is reading this) that I told my hair dresser (who is also a friend I might add) before anyone knew. I was dying ...filled with excitement and terror I was bursting to tell! Thank you for listening Kathy! After the hair appointment ...my wonderful mother went down to our local pharmacy and bought two more tests! (I couldn't get into the doctor until 4:30) and we were both yearning for more answers! I am sure the pharmacist was looking at my 56 year old mother thinking ... "good for you" when she asked for the tests! lol Well I took the test and it was positive as well! At this point I am thinking well maybe this is true....that afternoon went by so slow while we waited to get into the Dr. Once in he says ...well what are we here for today. I promptly reply I think I am pregnant. He says ..well is this a good thing or a bad thing. I said, well a really good thing ...but very surprising! After 5 years of fertility, 5 husband inseminations and 2 adopted boys later we weren't really planning on having a baby! On top of that I am going back to work Sept. 1st and then the doctor quickly replys "and that is exactly why this happened!" LoL I had to giggle and then jump up and down and hug him when he said his results were the same as mine! We really did it...we really are growing a little chicken in my tummy! Thank you God for this opportunity to feel pregnant ...even with the excessive peeing, the nausea and lack of sleep because my brain won't shut off, I wouldn't have it any other way. I promise I won't complain as the symptoms worsen. I will embrace all of it.. I hope!
