Halloween!

Happy Halloween Everyone! I had such a fantastic Halloween this year! Our party at work was such a success. We had so many outsiders visiting and they all came in fantastic costumes. The staff and I worked hard to get all the Resident's costumes this year. They looked great ..I wish I could post photos. We had angels to pirates, to devils, a doctor, witches, cowboys, a rough rider fan a bride...the list goes on! Made for a very busy afternoon. Not sure where the time went. From that party we rushed home to get our little goblins out the door! Mason was a monkey for school party and then an elephant for the night and James was Super Mario. He had his friend Gordon come from PA to trick or treat with our family. They had a blast running from one house to the next. We were blessed with very nice fall weather this year. No mucky snowy messes. Although after dark it did feel cool. Didn't slow down the children. They still came home with a loot! Hope everyone had a good night!

Well it doesn't get any more real than this friends and family! After fretting for weeks that I couldn't possibly be pregnant ...even after quite a few tests confirming positive....we finally got to see our baby on Friday! I can't even explain the emotions that came over me. I could have watched that screen for hours. (Even though Doula said make it a quick one!) I tried to follow her advise knowing it is not great for the baby but I was in awe and in love. I couldn't stop crying tears of joy which made my tummy move which in turn made the baby move! lol The baby was so active moving all around, sucking on its hand it made it hard to take pictures. The legs on that baby were amazing. They looked so long for such an itty bitty thing. So now we wait and pray that baby Carrier grows big and strong and we count the sleeps till the next Ultra-sound in December where hopefully we find out if baby is a "he or a she". James prays every night now for a girl. He abruptly says he has a boy already! Ohhh kids so funny. I know he will be excited with any baby in the end. It is fun hearing his predictions though!

Thanksgiving Weekend!

What a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend we had. We decided we were not traveling this year, we have been so busy with the wedding we thought we would have a nice quiet weekend at home! Best decision ever! I spent Saturday night making pies, Sunday I got up and stuffed the turkey before Church. Gramma and Grampa Carrier met us at Church and it was an awesome service as always with amazing music! Then we came home to a late afternoon feast. I get so much satisfaction out of cooking for my family and listening to the silence as they devour their food. After supper Jordie did the dishes (something to be thankful for as I think I used every pot and dish in the house) the kids played with Grandparents and then we had pie. James has been asking to eat pie since the moment he got up! He loves pumpkin pie. Monday we decided to venture out to Rosthern for the day to visit the corn maze. What a great outing for all ages. They have two different corn mazes ...which are quite difficult for the amateur corn maze goer! lol We cheated on the big one and took the "emergency exit" but one of the best parts of the visit. We got to feed the most amazing beautiful horses! Even little Mason couldn't get enough of them. They ate the corn from our hands...their velvety noses tickling our palms. I just loved it. Then there was a bouncey castle as well as a rock wall. James did the rock wall for the first time ever. He struggled the first go around he wanted to hold on to the rope ...but the second time he scooted right to the top! Then there was the petting zoo. This Mummy loved the petting zoo. I wanted to adopt a few animals. I will save that story for another post! All in all a fabulous fun filled weekend with our family! We are blessed!

Out of the mouths of babes.....

In talking with my son the other night about the baby I said ....well what do you think we should name the baby. If the baby turns out to be a girl Mummy can't think of a name. You could see his little brain working ....he turns to me and says... well Mummy I think "Mrs. Enns" is a great name for the baby! (I just about died...that is his teacher) I guess its nice that he really likes his teacher! lol

Appointment

Hi Everyone! Well I didn't reply back right away to my last post as my appointment wasn't as exciting as I had hoped it to be. We were unable to hear the baby's heart beat due to the fact that it is still early and I am a chubby girl! lol So sad but the Dr. assures me everything is o.k. That still wasn't enough for me so I was quite persistent in asking for an ultra-sound. I am truly thankful for this blessing but I am still in such shock that it is real. I really need to see our baby. So thankfully after many tears the Doctor realized I wasn't kidding around I had real honest anxiety and he wrote the requisition for me to have an ultra-sound. So stay tuned I go next Friday the 14th at 1:00. I am so excited I can't think of anything else! I might add my wonderful Doula Jenny came that night after my appointment with some literature about hearing the baby's heartbeat and to chat. I am so thankful to have a Doula that is not just a Doula she is my friend. Happy Thanksgiving weekend friends and family.

A Little Nervous

Tomorrow is our Doctor's appointment. Please say a prayer that all is well. Hopefully we will get to hear the baby's heart beat ...supposedly it sounds like galloping horses. We will be asking for an ultra-sound to ease my racing mind. I will post again tomorrow and let everyone know how it went. Until then, please pray. XO

My Doula

So I know I might be a bit biased but I think I have the best doula in the world!!!! She stopped by tonight to bring me this cute bag it says " I love my Doula" and a video called "The business of being born" haven't watched it yet as I had to get to Bible Study. I will report back on the video once I have seen it. I have to say it is the absolute best having a doula ...she is there 24/7 (although I do try to text at reasonable hours in the day) with my crazy questions, when I am scared or nervous about something or if I just have a question. She even came with me to my first ultra-sound when Jordan was unable to. I was so thankful. I had no clue I was going to be so nervous and emotional. She kept me calm and somewhat sane through out the whole experience. She continually send me little positive upbeat notes and she even delivered lemon suckers when I had a terrible cold. ( I know above and beyond the call of duty) She loves her job and you can tell. We love you Jenny!

Grower Wedding

This past weekend Jordie and I hit the road to Winnipeg for one of my best friend's weddings. What a wonderful time from the minute we hit the road. First road trip since being parents that we didn't have children in tow! Thank you Grampa for babysitting for us. A trip that usually takes us 10 hours with the kids was 8 1/2. ( of course we didn't have any flat tires this time so that helps) We stayed a new very inexpensive Motel 6...and it was all decked out like we were at a Mexican resort. Anyways the first night in Winnipeg was the rehearsal which was very fun yet emotional. The Minister was wonderful and had everyone at ease right away. The church was absolutely beautiful ...a very old Anglican Church with all the amazing stained glass windows. My date for the wedding was Tony...he was such a gentleman always helping me down the stairs and opening doors! I loved it ...felt like a princess. Following the rehearsal was a meal at the East Indian Company. Jordie and I were skeptical being that neither one of us are very adventurous in the food department. One of the groomsman's parents own the restaurant and they have been friends since they were little. Well since curry isn't one of our fav spices we didn't do so swell with the buffet. Needless to say we hit hooters on the way home from the event. It was a fun evening socializing with the rest of the wedding party getting to know them better. Friday was spa day....SO FUN! Best pedicure I have ever had in my whole life...even had bags with hot wax put on my feet. I felt like I died and gone to heaven. Then there was the massage ...oh boy oh boy ...my feet and legs. Although did you know your feet are somehow connected to your uterus so she was unable to give me a deep massage ...later in pregnancy it could actually send you into early labour! I said I'd be back if baby Carrier decided to take their sweet time entering the world! lol After the spa ...Heather (the bride) and I had a sleepover at her place. She had a french manicure done so I had to wash and blow dry her hair for her. Good times with lots of giggles. We were pretty good and went to bed at 11 but neither one of us fell asleep till after midnight. Then we were up at 6:30ish to get ready to start the big day. First up was hair....then back to the house for make-up (loved this part). I got to try fake eye lashes for the first time...felt like a movie star. Heather looked like a movie star ..absolutely stunning! Then we put on our dresses...some of us "squeezed" into our dresses. I am not too sure what happened from Tuesday to Saturday but one of us grew! Not mentioning any names....ok it was me. I didn't think the darn dress was going to do up. My goodness thankfully her mom was able to squeeze me into it and I thank the Lord for the creation of spanx. If you don't know what spanx are I don't think you are on my friend list anymore. he he. The wedding was absolutely beautiful ...no snags ...it was perfect ...could have been on the wedding show. The look on the grooms face when he saw his bride will forever been in my head. Definitely a top moment in my life. He was glowing! After the ceremony we went out for pictures ...it was a long afternoon but it will be well worth it when we get to see the beautiful photos. The reception followed at the Breezy Ben golf course. So absolutely PERFECT out there...everything from the chocolate brown bows on the chairs to the leaf cookies with everyone's name on them. I made it through my speech without crying ...although I did break into giggles a few times. I am so happy for Heather and Paul that they have found eachother. Their wedding was a perfect start to a wonderful marriage that lies ahead. I love going to weddings and especially being in them ...I feel like I am renewing my vows all over again. LOVE-there is no greater thing. XO
